From Galveston to South Padre.

Fishing Reports updated 3-26-02

EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair to good around Frozen Point on She Dogs, Super Spooks and Top Dogs. Flounder are fair to good on spoons tipped with shrimp along the shorelines. Black drum are fair to good in the Ship Channel on mullet and crabs.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair to good over mid-bay reefs in four to eight feet of water on live shrimp and glow/chartreuse plastics. Redfish and sheepshead are good around structure and rocks on live shrimp. Black drum are fair to good at the causeway and railroad bridge on fresh dead shrimp.

TEXAS CITY: Black drum are good from the dike at night and during the day on shrimp and crab. Trout, redfish and flounder are fair under the lights on live shrimp. Sheepshead are good on live bait around pilings and structure.

FREEPORT: Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at San Luis Pass and the New River Bridge on shrimp and live mud minnows. Trout and flounder are fair on live shrimp and at San Luis Pass and in Christmas Bay.

EAST MATAGORDA: Trout and redfish are fair to good at Kain Cove and Brown Cedar Flats on red shad, fire tiger and glow/chartreuse Bass Assassins, Sand Eels, Trout Killers and Top Dogs. Flounder are good on live bait around the cuts and bayous on a moving tide.

MATAGORDA: Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline around the tripod on red shad and fire tiger Bass Assassins, Sand Eels and Trout Killers. Redfish are fair to good on live bait in the channel and on gold spoons along the shorelines. Flounder and redfish are good around the cuts and passes on a moving tide on shrimp and mud minnows.

PORT O'CONNOR: Trout are good on live shrimp under a popping cork while drifting grass beds and mud bottoms in San Antonio Bay. Redfish are good along the shorelines and grass on blue/silver topwater plugs and gold and silver spoons. Black drum, redfish and sheepshead are good on live bait at the jetty.

ROCKPORT: Trout are good on the oyster reefs on glow Sand Eels, Trout Killers, Bass Assassins and live shrimp under a popping cork. Redfish and black drum are good on the Estes Flats on cracked crabs and dead shrimp.

PORT ARANSAS: Trout and redfish are fair to good at the North Jetty and on the East Flats on mullet and shrimp. Redfish are good in the back bays on live and fresh dead shrimp and crabs.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Trout, black drum and redfish are fair to good on the shell in Nueces Bay on live shrimp. Black drum and gafftop are fair to good at the Indian Point Pier on crabs and shrimp.

BAFFIN BAY: Trout and redfish are good along the King Ranch shoreline and at Rocky Slough on live shrimp, Corkies and Top Dogs. Black drum are good in the channels on crabs and shrimp. Trout and black drum are fair to good at the Land Cut on live shrimp.

PORT MANSFIELD: Trout are slow. Whiting, croaker and redfish are fair on fresh dead shrimp in East Cut. Sheepshead and black drum are fair at the jetty on shrimp and mullet.

SOUTH PADRE: Trout and redfish are fair on topwaters from Laguna Vista to Holly Beach. Black drum, sheepshead and mangrove snapper are fair at the jetty on sea lice.

PORT ISABEL: Trout, redfish and black drum are fair at Airport Cove on live shrimp under a popping cork. Redfish are fair on topwaters in Cullen Bay. Trout and redfish are fair on electric blue/chartreuse and bone Red Killers around Three Islands.

Fishing Reports on the Piers around the coastal bend.

Bob Hall Pier: An occasional redfish, with all the whiting you can handle.

The Piers along the JFK Causeway: Trainer's, Cos-way and Clem's piers report that the bull black drum are still biting, and their are a few nice flounder starting to turn up as well.

Copano State Pier: A few small trout at night on GLOW Sassy Shad's and a the sheepshead still being caught throughout the day on oyster's and live shrimp, me and a friend brought off 10 sheepshead last week weighing in at 54 lbs. That's a stringer

The Texas City Dike: If weather prevails fish for the big black drum with Sea Lice and Cut Crab, the flounder bite improving here as well.
